Sportsnet has secured exclusive Canadian rights to the German Bundesliga. The pay-television broadcaster previously had a sublicensing deal with Fox Sports, but its exclusive deal now makes it the official home of the Bundesliga in Canada. Sportsnet will show live Bundesliga matches every game week, in addition to match highlights, recaps, magazine shows like Bundesliga Weekly, and more.
SportsNet has acquired multi-platform English-language broadcast rights to the German Bundesliga in Canada, following a sublicensing agreement with U.S. broadcaster FOX. The deal is set to run until the end of the 2019/20 season. SportsNet's linear TV networks will telecast select Bundesliga games every match day, as well as the Bundesliga relegation playoffs. The agreement also lets SportsNet channels air highlight shows, including weekly program Bundesliga Matchday. Online streaming of the matches will be carried out by the network's premium service SportsNet Now, which will cover all 306 fixtures live and on demand.
Two live matches to be shown on each match day on Sportsnet One and Sportsnet World. In addition they will show the highlights programme each match-week. Rights have been assigned for all platforms (Cable TV, Mobile and Broadband).
